Softball Game Preview: Lunenburg Central Chargers vs. Southampton Indians

Lunenburg Central has won four straight games at home, while Southampton has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Chargers will welcome the Indians at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Monday, Lunenburg Central made easy work of Altavista and carried off a 10-2 victory.

Meanwhile, while Southampton put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for John Marshall. The Indians blew past the Justices 23-0. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Indians considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Kayla Brooks was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season. Reagan D'Arco was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Southampton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .800. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Southampton's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Lunenburg Central, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.
