Volleyball Recap: Scottsburg Starts Season with Win Against Mitchell + How To Watch

Scottsburg took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Mitchell Bluejackets 2-1. That's more bragging rights for the Warriors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Scottsburg who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 14-25, 15-10.

Jules Paris was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had ten digs. Those ten digs gave her a new career-high.

Scottsburg was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive games dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Mitchell still got an impressive performance from Natalee Nissley, who had 14 digs and two assists.

Scottsburg has already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Southport on the 16th. As for Mitchell, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Salem on the 16th.
