Flag Football Recap: Anna Johnson's Menacing Defense Leads Ponderosa over Highlands Ranch

Ponderosa got their first taste of in-conference action on Tuesday and they started things off strong. They came out on top against the Highlands Ranch Falcons by a score of 20-12. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by exactly eight points.

Ponderosa didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Anna Johnson, Pacey Thompson, and Keira picked up one apiece.

The win made it two in a row for Ponderosa and bumps their season record up to 5-8. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 18 points in those games. As for Highlands Ranch, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Coming up, Ponderosa will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Air Academy at 3:30 p.m. As for Highlands Ranch, they are taking a road trip to take on Heritage at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
