Basketball Game Preview: Atlantic Sharks vs. Menendez Falcons

The Atlantic Sharks will square off against the Menendez Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Menendez took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Atlantic, who comes in off a win.

Last Tuesday, Atlantic narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Deltona 57-55.

Meanwhile, Menendez lost to Nease on the road by a 46-31 margin on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost nine in a row.

Atlantic will need focus on slowing down Sophia Scibelli, one of several Menendez players who made an impact when they last played. She posted ten points in addition to six boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakayla Newsome, who had nine points.

Atlantic's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Menendez, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

Atlantic ended up a good deal behind Menendez when the teams last played back in November of 2024, losing 47-29. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Menendez's Lucia Warner, who put up 14 points along with seven boards and seven steals.
