Inland Valley recap November 13, 2013
Canyon Springs scaled the state rankings by moving to 328 from 369 this week, the biggest jump in Inland Valley. The Cougars climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Valley View 38-35.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Rancho Verde beat Vista del Lago 44-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Mustangs.
CODY CERVANTES threw for 316 yards and 3 touchdowns.
CERVANTES put up the best numbers through the air as Canyon Springs bested the Eagles. CERVANTES's favorite target this week was NICK COMO, who caught 2 passes for 93 yards.
Thanks to the talents of CERVANTES and KAMARRI WATSON, Pete Garza's team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. CERVANTES is tops in the league in passing with 1,942 yards, while WATSON has rushed for 1,078 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is Valley View's Hakeem Eubanks, with 789 yards on 46 catches.
In 153 carries TERRELL LEE has accumulated 973 yard this year.
Entering into this week's contest against Kaiser, CERVANTES is short just 58 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season.
The Ravens fell to Rancho Verde 44-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
