Baseball Recap: Dougherty Wins Going Away Against Sherwood Christian Academy

Dougherty's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Everything went their way against the Sherwood Christian Academy Eagles as they made off with a 12-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won nine games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Kameron Knighton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Knighton was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Joshua Weaver was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing six bases while going 1-for-2. Those six stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Courtney Love was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

With the victory, Dougherty broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 13-6. As for Sherwood Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Dougherty does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sherwood Christian Academy, they have already played their next matchup, a 9-1 loss against Southland Academy on the 15th.
