The Archbishop McCarthy Mavericks just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Somerset Academy Key Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Archbishop McCarthy is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Reagan just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 60-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bison. While losing is never fun, the Mavericks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 185th, while the Bison are ranked 35th).

Meanwhile, Somerset Academy Key suffered their biggest loss since November 21st on Saturday. They lost 67-43 to Doral Academy. The match marked the Lions' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Somerset Academy Key and nudges their season record down to 5-5. As for Archbishop McCarthy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-3.
