Basketball Game Preview: Tri-Valley Warriors vs. Minto Lakers

Tri-Valley is 2-8 against Minto since January of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Tri-Valley Warriors will jump right back in to play the Minto Lakers at 11:00 a.m. One thing working in Tri-Valley's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.

Tri-Valley heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Thursday. They fell 75-68 to Manokotak. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (57), the Warriors still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Minto faced Shaktoolik in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. Minto fell to Shaktoolik 48-42. The Lakers haven't had much luck with the Wolverines recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Minto's defeat dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Tri-Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 17-8.

Things could have been worse for Tri-Valley, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 61-44 loss to Minto in their previous meeting back in February. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Minto's Jonathon David Jr., who posted 25 points. Now that Tri-Valley knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time?
