Basketball Game Preview: Wallace County Wildcats vs. Quinter Bulldogs

The Wallace County Wildcats and the Quinter Bulldogs will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, Wallace County strolled past Greeley County with points to spare, taking the game 56-37. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Jackrabbits are ranked 84th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Quinter entered their tilt with Rawlins County on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Everything went their way against the Buffaloes as they made off with a 64-40 win. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Quinter's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 17 points. As for Wallace County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-1.

Wallace County couldn't quite finish off Quinter in their previous meeting last Friday and fell 51-49. Can Wallace County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
