Soccer Game Preview: Pine vs. South Fork

The Pine Knights will face off against the South Fork Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

South Fork is hoping to do what Benjamin couldn't on Thursday: put an end to Pine's winning streak, which now stands at four games. Pine had just enough and edged Benjamin out 3-2. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Knights' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 20th).

Pine hit Benjamin with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jo?o Pedro De Brito, Benjamin Blanco, and Eric Lefort.

Meanwhile, South Fork sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Jupiter Christian on Friday.

Pine's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 35 goals over those eight contests. As for South Fork, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4-1 record this season.
