Volleyball Recap: Mercer Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Mercer, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against the Lac Courte Oreilles Eagles on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-11, 25-14.

Ryley Saarnio was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had five kills, five aces, four digs, and one block. That's the most aces she has posted over her last seven matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Stella Thompson, who had four aces and three digs.

They weren't the only good servers: Mercer was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in three consecutive matchups.

Mercer's win bumped their record up to 4-17. As for Lac Courte Oreilles, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.
