Basketball Recap: Avon Takes a Loss

Avon lost against Wareham back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Avon Panthers took a 58-44 bruising from the Wareham Vikings. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Avon still got an impressive performance from Hanelie Cadet, who posted 26 points. Cadet's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Uwa Idada was another key player, putting up six points along with 13 boards and seven blocks.

Even though they lost, Avon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Avon's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Wareham, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Avon will take on South Shore Vo-Tech at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Wareham, they will be playing at home against Westport at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
