Baseball Recap: Mount Calvary Christian Takes a Loss

Mount Calvary Christian lost against Greenwood back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Chargers came up short against the Wildcats, falling 8-2. The Chargers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Mount Calvary Christian saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Stewart, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Gideon Risser also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Mount Calvary Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Greenwood, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount Calvary Christian will face off against La Academia Charter at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greenwood, they will take on East Juniata at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.33 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
