Preview: Lake Country Christian Eagles vs. Dallas Christian Chargers
Lake Country Christian has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Dallas Christian Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lake Country Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 918th, while Dallas Christian is ranked 183rd).
Last Friday, Lake Country Christian suffered a tough 40-14 loss at the hands of Grace Prep.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Gannon Mcelroy, who threw for 161 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Dallas Christian entered their tilt with McKinney Christian Academy with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Dallas Christian blew past McKinney Christian Academy 70-0 at home. Considering Dallas Christian has won eight matches by more than 30 points this season, two weeks ago's blowout was nothing new.
Dallas Christian's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Luke Carney, who rushed for 90 yards, and Jaden Davis, who rushed for 141 yards and five touchdowns on only 12 carries. Dallas Christian also got help from William Nettles who showed off his sure hands for 80 receiving yards.
Lake Country Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Dallas Christian, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
