Softball Recap: Pendleton Takes Down Ranked St. Helens

Pendleton faced St. Helens in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Buckaroos came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lions, sneaking past 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Buckaroos have posted since April 19, 2024.

The victory was the third in a row for Pendleton, bringing their record up to 13-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for St. Helens, their defeat ended a 21-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 17-2.

Looking ahead, Pendleton will host Baker/Powder Valley at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Helens, they will head out to challenge Wilsonville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
