Basketball Recap: Red Rock's Win Ends Nine-Game Losing Streak at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rancho Solano Prep, Red Rock was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Wickenburg Wranglers by a score of 62-52. The Scorpions' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Despite the defeat, Wickenburg saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Damian Smith shot 46% from the field on his way to 28 points. With that strong performance, Smith is now averaging an impressive 16.7 points per game. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Newman, who posted ten points.

Red Rock's victory ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3. As for Wickenburg, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Red Rock wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 58-50 win against ALA - Anthem South on the 11th. As for Wickenburg, they will head out to challenge San Pasqual Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wranglers will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 58.75 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
