Piedmont Community Charter won the last time they faced Valor Preparatory Academy, and John Carmichael did his part to make sure it happened again. The Piedmont Community Charter Patriots enjoyed a cozy 69-52 win over the Valor Preparatory Academy Owls on Tuesday thanks in part to Carmichael, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 boards. The game was his fifth in a row with at least ten points.

Eli Grant was another key player, putting up seven points and five steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games he's played.

When it comes to explaining why Valor Preparatory Academy lost, don't look at Bishop Witherspoon. Despite the final result, he went 10 of 16 on his way to 28 points and six rebounds. That was a full 53.8% of Valor Preparatory Academy's points, marking the 11th time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dane Colbert, who had seven points along with ten rebounds and three blocks.

Piedmont Community Charter now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Valor Preparatory Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

Piedmont Community Charter will square off against Jackson Day at 7:30 p.m. on January 14th. Piedmont Community Charter knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Jackson Day likes a good challenge. As for Valor Preparatory Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 81-18 victory against Covenant Classical on the 9th.
