Baseball Game Preview: Poth Pirates vs. Lytle Pirates

Poth will take on Lytle at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Poth's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Lytle's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Poth gave up the first runs on Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Devine by a score of 5-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Major Luna was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Clark, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Poth kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Lytle and Valley Mills finished up their contest with a 4-4 tie on Saturday.

Lytle's tie gives them a new season record of 2-2-1. As for Poth, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
