Softball Game Preview: Conant Cougars vs. Fremd Vikings

Conant hasn't had much luck against Fremd recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Vikings at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Conant is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over Willowbrook. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted since April 11th.

Cailyn Kehoe was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Kiana Leopoldo, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, while Fremd put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Bartlett. The Vikings put the hurt on the Hawks with a sharp 7-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Fremd's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-7-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Conant, their win bumped their record up to 15-7.
