Baseball Recap: Breathitt County Extends Road Winning Streak to Three

Breathitt County came out on top against Leslie County on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fourth inning. The Bobcats took their contest against the Eagles 6-1. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Aiden Combs made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Combs was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Colby Bird, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

Breathitt County pushed their record up to 13-10 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Leslie County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-20.

Coming up, Breathitt County will welcome Rowan County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bobcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Leslie County, they will take on Lee County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
