Waitsburg's game  last Friday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Friday. They put the hurt on the St. John-Endicott Eagles with a sharp  70-44 victory. The Cardinals pushed the score to  62-26 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.
 Jayton Gleason continued  his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 191 yards and five  scores on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 222 yards and four  touchdowns. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D,  making three total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging  two  interceptions.  Martin Vasquez also helped out as he racked up 100 rushing yards.
 They were just one part of a punishing run game: Waitsburg was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 307  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 154  rushing yards in six consecutive  contests.

 Waitsburg didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut  Gleason. His passing game has become a key predictor of Waitsburg's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 0-3 otherwise.  Jarod Hankins was another major factor on D,  picking up  a  sack, forcing two fumbles,  and making ten total tackles.
Waitsburg's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for St. John-Endicott,  they are  on  a  seven-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-7.
