Recap: South Sioux City Cardinals vs. Gross Catholic Cougars
The South Sioux City Cardinals scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. Everything went their way against Gross Catholic as South Sioux City made off with a 71-51 victory. The win was just what South Sioux City needed coming off of a 67-42 loss in their prior match.
Leading South Sioux City to victory were Bailee Durant and Brooklyn Heineman. Durant scored 22 points along with two steals, while Heineman dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Durant has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Izabella Moret, who scored nine points.
South Sioux City has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for Gross Catholic, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-12.
South Sioux City will look to defend their home court on Monday against Elkhorn. Elkhorn is coming into the match with five straight losses on the road, meaning South Sioux City will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. Gross Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
