Pitman and Modesto are an even 5-5 against one another  since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Pride will be playing at home against the Panthers  at 2:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Pitman is coming into the  contest on  a  six-game losing streak.
Pitman fell victim to Enochs and their airtight pitching crew  on Tuesday. They came up short against  the Eagles, falling  10-0. The  game marked the first time this year in which the Pride were not able to get on the board.
 Pitman saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Ivy Butler, who  went 1-for-2 with one  stolen base and one  double.
Meanwhile, Modesto made easy work of Downey  on Tuesday and carried off  an  8-1 victory. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive  win against them.
 Alyssa Ramirez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Those  ten  strikeouts gave  her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Taylor Luton, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most  runs  she has posted since back in February.  Kayla Contreras was another key player,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-5.
 Pitman's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Modesto, their victory bumped their record up to 5-12.
