Recap: Bishop Dunne Falcons vs. Grapevine Faith Christian Lions
The Bishop Dunne Falcons lost against the Grapevine Faith Christian Lions back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Bishop Dunne took a hard 54-38 fall against Grapevine Faith Christian. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bishop Dunne in their matchups with Grapevine Faith Christian: they've now lost four in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grapevine Faith Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brennen Byrd, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds. Byrd is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. Landon Harlin was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Bishop Dunne has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Grapevine Faith Christian, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop Dunne will take on Legacy Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Grapevine Faith Christian on the road again on Tuesday and play against Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep at 7:45 p.m. on January 16th. Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
