Baseball Recap: Peabody Gets the Win

Peabody was forced to take a big defeat against they on Monday, they got the better of them on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Milan Bulldogs. This was a revenge game for the Golden Tide: when they faced off against the Bulldogs on Monday, they had to take a 12-3 loss.

Peabody got a great performance from Aidan Poore as he pitched 6.2 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits.

On the hitting side, Beau Elliott was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. He has become a key player for Peabody: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-9 otherwise. Banks McDaniel was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Peabody has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Milan, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.

Peabody wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 12-2 victory against Bradford on the 17th. As for Milan, they have also already played their next game, a 7-6 win against Dyersburg on the 17th.
