Basketball Recap: Red Bluff Triumphs

While Red Bluff didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 47-36 victory over the West Valley Eagles on Monday. This was payback for the Spartans, who suffered a 62-47 defeat the last time these two teams met.

West Valley's loss came despite strong showings from Zack Boemeke and Jordan Heacock. Boemeke almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards, while Heacock went 5 of 12 on his way to 14 points. That was a full 38.9% of West Valley's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Red Bluff's record now sits at 8-5. As for West Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season.

Red Bluff wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 46-44 loss against Orland on the 3rd. As for West Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-38 defeat against McKinleyville on the 2nd.
