Volleyball Recap: Desert Oasis Diamondbacks vs. Centennial Bulldogs

Desert Oasis lost against Centennial back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Diamondbacks fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 3-2. While the Diamondbacks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 25-18 in the first set.

Desert Oasis wouldn't go down easily and took Centennial into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking seven-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-15, 25-22, 14-25, 15-8.

Bryli Allen paced Desert Oasis' offense, picking up 15 kills. Allen were helped by Riana Morales Imura and Emerson Moore, who contributed 13 assists each. MacKenzie Dalton controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Avery Meservey went supernova For Centennial., getting 22 digs. Those 22 digs gave Meservey a new career-high. Dalilah Carvajal was another key player, getting 34 assists and nine digs.

This is the second loss in a row for Desert Oasis and nudges their season record down to 3-6. As for Centennial, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Desert Oasis will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Arbor View at 6:00 p.m. on September 3.
