Baseball Game Preview: North White Vikings vs. West Central Trojans

For the second straight game, North White will face off against West Central. The Vikings will head out to face off against the Trojans at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. North White is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

West Central hit North White with a four-run third inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vikings came up short against the Trojans, falling 9-3.

For West Central's part, Zane Wall made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave Wall a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Teagan Holle, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of West Central's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 4-9 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Christian Hughes, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

North White's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for West Central, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-9.
