Baseball Game Preview: Sycamore Spartans vs. East Moline United Panthers

The Sycamore Spartans will face off against the East Moline United Panthers at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. The timing isn't great for Sycamore: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while East Moline United has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.

On Saturday, Sycamore didn't have quite enough to beat Wauconda and fell 7-5.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but East Moline United ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Morris 5-3.

East Moline United's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Dominic Stottler, who went 3-for-4 with one double. Kellan Kennedy also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Sycamore's loss dropped their record down to 17-15. As for East Moline United, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-11 record this season.
