Football Recap: Chambers Falls Short of Myers Park in the Playoffs + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Chambers can now relate to. They were dealt a 42-0 defeat at the hands of the Myers Park Mustangs on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 70th, while the Mustangs are ranked ninth).

Zyon Hailey threw for 125 yards on 14 of 22 attempts. Jahtavis Banks was his top target, picking up 53 receiving yards.

Myers Park's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Josh Falzarano Jr led the charge by rushing for 113 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Keefe, who picked up 107 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Chambers has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Myers Park, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Chambers does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Myers Park, they will venture away from home to face off against West Charlotte at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Mustangs 9.7, the Lions 5.5) so any points scored will be well earned.
