Recap: Magoffin County Hornets vs. Bell County Bobcats
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Magoffin County Hornets, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were beaten by Bell County 62-27 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Magoffin County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky football rankings (they are ranked 155th, while Bell County is ranked 38th).
It was another big night for Daniel Thomas, who rushed for 333 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 14.5 yards per carry. Thomas hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for 11 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Burnett, who threw for 122 yards and two touchdowns on only eight passes.
Magoffin County's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Bell County, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Magoffin County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bell County will head out on the road to face off against Belfry at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Belfry is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
