Softball Recap: Huffman Comes Up Short

Huffman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 23-0 to the Clay-Chalkville Cougars. The Vikings were not able to make up for their loss to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Huffman's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Clay-Chalkville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-2.

Coming up, Huffman will face off against Woodlawn at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Colonels have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.75 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Clay-Chalkville, they are taking a road trip to face off against Gadsden City at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Titans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.88 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of.
