Soccer Game Preview: Roane County vs. Sequoyah

The Roane County Yellowjackets are taking a road trip to take on the Sequoyah Chiefs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Roane County has six straight victories, Sequoyah has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Roane County's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 4-0 margin over Eagleton College & Career Academy. Given Roane County's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 75th, while Eagleton College & Career Academy are ranked 265th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Sequoyah was not quite Sequatchie County's equal in the second half on Friday. They lost 4-1 to the Indians.

Sequoyah's goal came courtesy of Dhenver Roda, which was the first he's scored this season.

Sequoyah's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Roane County, their win bumped their record up to 10-1-1.
