Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tottenville). They were the clear victors by a 20-1 margin over the Lincoln Railsplitters on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Pirates sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Unique McMullen was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs.
In other batting news, Tottenville got a massive performance out of Nina Rivera, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Amanda Reyes was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
