Football Recap: Pioneer's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

Pioneer fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Hanna on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 25-22. The close matchup was extra heartbreaking for the Diamondbacks, who almost overcame a 22 point deficit.

Despite the loss, Pioneer still got an impressive performance from William Goodloe, who rushed for 79 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 156 yards and one touchdown. Alec Chapa also deserves some recognition as he hauled in his first receiving touchdown of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Pioneer fell to 3-1. As for Hanna, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pioneer will head out to take on Porter at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Diamondbacks will be up against the Cowboys' rather soft defense (which has allowed 41.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Hanna, they will venture away from home to face off against La Joya at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
