Baseball Recap: Lake Stevens Find Success

Lake Stevens's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They never let the Cascade Bruins get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Bruins: they've now won three in a row.

Cascade's batters probably weren't too happy with Luke Morris, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 14 Ks (he gave up a single walk). Those 14 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Morris.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Aspen Alexander, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Julian Wilson also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Lake Stevens lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Lake Stevens' win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Cascade, they dropped their record down to 3-11 with the loss, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Lake Stevens will be playing in front of their home fans against Jackson at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cascade, they will head out to take on Meadowdale at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bruins are facing the Mavericks at the right time seeing as the Mavericks are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
