Softball Recap: Hinsdale South's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Willowbrook, Hinsdale South was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Leyden Eagles by a score of 7-4. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Hornets as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Aliyah Hamilton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kayla Buckels-Meen was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Ava Scheirer, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Hinsdale South's record now sits at 4-17-1. As for Leyden, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-9.

Looking ahead, Hinsdale South will be playing in front of their home fans against De La Salle at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Leyden, they will head out to take on Addison Trail at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
