Basketball Recap: Swain County Takes a Loss

If Swain County was feeling good fresh off their 77-39 takedown of Summit Charter last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Swain County Maroon Devils took a blow against the Robbinsville Black Knights on Tuesday, falling 81-54. The Maroon Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Black Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Robbinsville was led to victory by Dane Knott and Bryce Adams. Knott went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points, while Adams dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Adams is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games he's played. Quinn Jumper was another key player, going 5 of 10 on his way to 10 points.

Swain County's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-6. As for Robbinsville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Swain County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 86-37 win against Blue Ridge Early College on the 23rd. As for Robbinsville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-17 victory against Highlands on the 23rd.
