The Sheridan Generals are taking a road trip to face off against the Westfall Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Sheridan will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
On Saturday, Sheridan made easy work of Liberty Union and carried off a 13-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Generals, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Connor Roshon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Roshon was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Sheridan let Noah Wamer and Camdyn Packer run wild. Wamer earned three runs and two stolen bases, while Packer went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave Wamer a new career-high. James Solomon was another key player, going 1-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Sheridan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Westfall). They blew past Chillicothe 14-4 on Saturday. The game was the first time the Mustangs have beaten the Cavaliers on their field since April 16, 2016.
Noah Stonerock looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Westfall is 6-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-7 otherwise.
At the plate, Westfall got a massive performance out of Nate Wolfe, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Cory Green, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Sheridan pushed their record up to 17-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Westfall, their record is now 12-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Sheridan has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Westfall struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Sheridan beat Westfall 15-10 in their previous matchup back in May of 2023. Will the Generals repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
