Basketball Preview: Washingtonville Wizards vs. Goshen Central Gladiators

The Washingtonville Wizards will head out on the road to square off against the Goshen Central Gladiators at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Washingtonville is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.

Last Thursday, Washingtonville was able to grind out a solid win over the Dragons, taking the game 51-40.

Washingtonville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zion Lynch, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Brownlee, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Goshen Central's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 56-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Middletown.

Washingtonville's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Goshen Central, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Washingtonville took their win against the Gladiators in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 62-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Washingtonville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
