Football Recap: Washington-Marion Takes a Loss

Washington-Marion extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-3. They came up short against the St. Louis Catholic Saints, falling 46-26. Despite 116 more yards than the Saints, the Charging Indians couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Despite the loss, Washington-Marion still got an impressive performance from Monte Farmer, who rushed for 31 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 211 yards and one TD while completing 74.1% of his passes.

St. Louis Catholic's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

St. Louis Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but McKylin Carrier led the charge by rushing for 112 yards and two scores. Those 112 rushing yards gave Carrier a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Konner Boudreaux, who threw for 86 yards and a pair of TDs.

Washington-Marion wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 44-26 victory against Peabody on the 3rd. As for St. Louis Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 43-23 loss against Iowa on the 2nd.
