Baseball Recap: St. Joseph Beats Barron for Their Fifth Straight Win

It's playoff time, and St. Joseph had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the Barron Golden Bears on Tuesday as they made off with a 14-4 win. Considering the Lancers have won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

St. Joseph let Peter Visconti and Dominic Santarelli run wild. Visconti went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI and two runs, while Santarelli got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most runs Visconti has posted since back in May. Another player making a difference was Dominic Rinaldi, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

The victory was the fifth in a row for St. Joseph, bringing their record up to 23-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Barron, they moved to 20-10-1 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

St. Joseph didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Kewaunee on the 19th. Barron does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
