Baseball Recap: Fort Myers Takes a Loss

Fort Myers and Gulf Coast squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Fort Myers had to settle for second. They fell 6-3 to the Sharks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Green Wave of the 9-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2022.

Fort Myers saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madrid Tucker, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Fort Myers' loss dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Gulf Coast, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-12 record this season.

While Fort Myers had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
