Basketball Recap: Northside Triumphs

While the Eagles's victory against the Patriots wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Northside Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 80-78 win over the Northside Patriots on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Despite the defeat, the Patriots had strong showings from Xavier Davies, who went 8-for-12 on his way to 19 points, and Tamir Coppins, who shot 75% from the field en route to 17 points. Davies is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 12 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jahiion Francois, who posted ten points.

The Eagles' victory bumped their record up to 13-8. As for the Patriots, their loss dropped their record down to 3-17.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. The Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' defense better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 67.2 points per game this season. As for the Patriots, they are taking a road trip to challenge the Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 67.29 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
