Basketball Game Preview: Harding Academy Lions vs. Memphis Central Warriors

The Harding Academy Lions will head out on the road to take on the Memphis Central Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Harding Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Evangelical Christian, taking the game 54-45.

Meanwhile, Memphis Central put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Germantown 55-40. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Red Devils are ranked 185th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Harding Academy better keep an eye on Alarin Polk. He was instrumental in Memphis Central's win, putting up 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Fitzgerald, who posted 12 points.

Harding Academy's record now sits at 6-1. As for Memphis Central, their record is now 10-0.

Harding Academy beat Memphis Central 50-42 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
