Softball Recap: Larkin Royals vs. Fenton Bison
Larkin can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Fenton Bison as the Larkin Royals made off with a 13-3 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for Larkin as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Olivia Salazar spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, Larkin got a massive performance out of Kenya Ventura, who went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Camila Alonzo, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
The victory got Larkin back to even at 12-12. As for Fenton, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-14.
Larkin will be playing at home against Streamwood at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fenton, they will head out on the road to challenge West Chicago at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
