Baseball Recap: Red Lion Wins Going Away Against Spring Grove

Red Lion got themselves on the board against Spring Grove on Monday, but Spring Grove never followed suit. They blew past the Rockets 8-0. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won three matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Connor Lawrence made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hunter Koons, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Ryder Pamepinto, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Red Lion always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Spring Grove only posted an OBP of .125.

Red Lion's victory bumped their record up to 5-3-1. As for Spring Grove, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5-1.
