Basketball Recap: Maple Lake Takes a Loss

Maple Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Paynesville Bulldogs, falling 82-28. While losing is never fun, the Irish can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 419th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 203rd).

Maple Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Paynesville, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maple Lake will face off against St. John's Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Maple Lake is facing St. John's Prep at the right time seeing as St. John's Prep is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. Paynesville has already played their next matchup (against Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
