Basketball Recap: Faith Christian Comes Up Short

After flying high against Alabama School for the Deaf last Tuesday, Faith Christian came back down to earth. The Faith Christian Lions fell 80-67 to the Saks Wildcats on Thursday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (60), the Lions still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Faith Christian still got an impressive performance from Parker Robinson, who went 12 for 25 on his way to 35 points. The matchup was Robinson's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Ean Taft was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Faith Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive contests.

Faith Christian now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Saks, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Faith Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Jacksonville Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Saks will take on Ohatchee in a holiday battle at at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
