Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Scotland walked away with it. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Cape Fear Colts on Tuesday. The win was nothing new for the Fighting Scots as they're now sitting on 25 straight.

Avery Stutts was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Emily Sampson was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Addison Johnson was another key player, earning one run and two stolen bases.

Scotland hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in nine consecutive contests.

Scotland's record is now 26-1. As for Cape Fear, their loss dropped their record down to 22-6.

Looking ahead, Scotland will face off against South Central on Friday. The Fighting Scots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season. Cape Fear does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
